Name: Cerebella - "The Diamond in the Rough"
Series: Skullgirls
Canon Standing: At the end of her story mode
Age: 18
Birthday & Astrology Sign: April 11, ARES
Arcana: STAR
Personality:
The high-flying, tumbling titan Cerebella always seems to be in high spirits, masking her sorrows with vigor and wit, her tomboyish, go-getter attitude and determined demeanor lighting her path through life as she takes it one hop, step and a jump at a time. She strives to be a star in all that she does, and coming from her background as the "Crown Jewel" of the Cirque des Cartes, she's got the star power and talent to back up her cocky attitude, and then some! Back home in the Canopy Kingdom, the Cirque isn't just your ordinary Circus, you go there for Cerebella, its fame and hers are one and the same. As such, showing off to demonstrate her skills is the name of the game, and anyone who dares to question her prowess is sure to have a fierce competition on their hands; be it in a scrap or otherwise.
Rowdy, competitive and headstrong to the core, Cerebella isn't one to quit easy in whatever she sets out to accomplish for herself, and it shows in how she interacts with others. In general, it takes a particular sort of person to deal with her constant gloating and competitiveness, plus her
flirtatious nature and natural beauty doesn't help with the ire she's so capable of generating from members of the same sex. That said, despite her faults, Cerebella is a genuinely friendly soul aiming to make new friends, though her particularly potent brand of star-power and self important attitude serves to erect a wall between her and her goal - that's fine, she'll just have to punch her way through it!
Those close to her are quick to learn that this bubbly, big-top diva takes her friendship seriously, and those who place it in jeopardy are sure to find themselves in a world of hurt. When outside the range of the world's starstruck eyes, she never quite loses her desire to compete, flirt or perform, but she does tend to calm her efforts down to unwind. Cerebella is fiercely protective of her buddies, adopting a big-sister mentality and lending advice or a Hollywood worthy butt-stomping whenever a friend's in need; after all, the world's a stage and she's the star, regardless of the situation.
Backstory:
The road to the top is paved with grievances, and though she shines brightly now, Cerebella wasn't always the bubbly, boasting beauty she is today. Her childhood years were stricken with the grief and loneliness of an orphan, though things began to look up when he came: Vitale Medici. The closest thing she's ever had to a Father, though his "love" came with a price that the young, desperate girl had no qualms with paying; For as long as she could remember, her peculiar friend had been there with her, protecting and watching over her as best as he could despite having no body to speak of. Medici noticed this special trait in Bella, the ability to control the living hat-weapon named "Vice Versa". He had seen its power and craved to own it for himself, and thus, he took Bella under his wing in order to further cultivate her powers, though he could care less for the girl on her own.
Time marched on, and Cerebella had long since made a name for herself through the skills she acquired working in the Cirque des Cartes with Vice-Versa at her side - or rather, on her head. In exchange for his care and hook-ups in the Circus, Vitale required that Cerebella work for him on the side as his own personal muscle. She became his legbreaker, and it was a job she excelled in. No matter the job, no matter the time, Cerebella always had time to work for the shadowy Vitale. The two, or rather, three, became a deadly combination - but despite this, Cerebella could never truly win over Vitale Medici's love. With him, it was always about the next job, the hat, improving her strength. The love of a true caregiver was never there, nor would it be. For that very reason, Cerebella was molded into what she is today. She would continue to try her damnedest to attract the attention of what she considered her only kin. No matter the cost.
Succeeding a rather spectacular act involving a tightrope, two baby elephants and one devilish diva, Cerebella caught sight of Medici in the changing room after her act. He explained to her that he needed a job of the most utmost importance completed ASAP. Sad, but unsurprised in the fact that he had shown up for the sole purpose of yet another job, she heard him out. As it had turned out, some furious feline had pilfered an item of grave importance from the Medici family: a priceless jewel known as the "Life Gem". Medici explained that he desperately needed this artifact back, and that Cerebella was the only one for the job. Not one to upset her Father and ever eager for yet another chance to attract his attention, she set off.
It wasn't long until Cerebella ran across the thief: One "Miss Fortune", an angry revenge-seeker cat-girl, as well as the last surviving member of the Fishbone Gang. Whatever the case, Bella did not care, and the two of them fought. After a brief scrap, the two came to a draw, with Fortune explaining that she simply couldn't give the Life Gem back since she, well, swallowed it! She went on to explain how after stealing it from the Medicis, she and her friends were caught, and she woke up at the bottom of the ocean, chopped to pieces - but she was still alive. The life gem had empowered her, leaving her zombified and immortal. After the brief conversation, the agile feline escaped Cerebella's clutches, leaving the diva to once again track her down at the Cathedral. It was here that she met a curious woman - some odd cross between a ninja and a nurse - attempting to dissect her quarry. To make things even weirder, she had some sort of odd doppleganger nun along with her! There wasn't time to question. Fortune was her target, and she wouldn't let these two attempt to stop her.
Another fearsome fight broke loose, with none other than Cerebella as the winner, though somewhere in the chaos, Fortune had once again skulked off. The monster-nun had explained that her target found her way off to the Catacombs, where it was rumored the Skullgirl resided. As so called "legend" has foretold, every seven years, a mysterious artifact known as the "Skull Heart" grants a woman's wish, and so long as her heart is pure, there are no strings attached to such an action. Medici had expressed interest in this legend before - perhaps confirming such a juicy piece of information could set his standards of her even higher! It's then that it hit her. Fortune would use the power of this Skull Heart to enact revenge on her family!
Within the dank confines of the catacombs Cerebella searched high and low for any traces of Fortune, but to no avail. Instead, she was greeted by the Skullgirl, whose intent was most obviously malicious. The battle shook the walls; fists and magic slung about every which way, though some how, some way, Cerebella once again succeeded. Her luck seemed endless, especially now with the famed Skull Heart in her very grasp. For a brief moment, she debated the benefits of securing a wish - perhaps to win over Vitale's attention, though she knew there was a job to be done. It's then that out of nowhere, Fortune struck, leaping from the darkness of the Catacombs to swipe the Skull Heart from Bella's hands.
Good thing she had four.
Without a second thought, Vice-Versa grasped the screeching cat in his palms, firmly securing her in a prison made of his own fingertips. Fortune howled in a mix of anger and despair, screaming, demanding that Cerebella hand over the Skull Heart so that she could avenge her friends - no, her family. Cerebella refused. Angered, Fortune clawed at the prison bars, attempting to ply Vice's fingers apart as she growled.
"So long as the Life Gem's power courses through my veins, I'll have my revenge WITH or WITHOUT the Skull Heart!"
Cerebella grimaced, but deep down, something in the words rang true to her.
"Through your veins, eh?"
Narrowing her eyes at the feline, suddenly Cerebella put one massive burst of mental energy into her command, the life of it flowing from her mind and into Vice-Versa's arms, and with a mighty pulse of his muscles, Fortune was crushed.
With the Life Gem and Skull Heart securely in the Medici's grasp, Vitale congratulated Cerebella on her work, exclaiming how she exceeded his wildest expectations. Indeed, she is the Crown Jewel of not only the Cirque des Cartes, but the Medici family as well. But to Cerebella, deep down, that shine isn't looking quite as bright as she had initially imagined. Nothing really changed. Nothing does. The attention she garnered through her efforts was praised in the same fashion as it had always been. She still didn't have a Father, she still didn't have a real home to speak of. Only a place. Only a job. Deep down, it's what she knew to be true.
It still is.

Canon Powers:
In short, Cerebella is adept in street fighting and highly advanced acrobatics, giving her an edge in combat. She's able to easily outflank and surprise her enemies with wit, speed and tactics - as well as a healthy amount of trash-talking! In addition to this, she's also gifted with inhuman strength thanks to her hat, Vice-Versa, which is easily capable of lifting cars one handed. Canonically (and quite comically), the hat is even pictured holding baby elephants in each hand. Despite its monstrous appearance, Vice-Versa is also very dexterous, and even gifts Cerebella with limited flight capabilities.
She has specific special moves which can be found below, but if I need to list them I'll be happy to comply.
All the powers listed here are strike.
